3 Favorite Spots for Holiday Shopping in Driving Distance of Memphis, TN

The Peanut Shoppe

This amazing store has been a fixture in Memphis since 1949. They’re world-famous for their incredible variety of nuts, including almonds, pistachios, cashews, and others imported from around the world. The nuts are roasted fresh every day and available in salted or unsalted. If there’s a type of nut you want, you’ll find it here with the option of shelled or unshelled.

They also sell dried fruits, candy, and chocolates. These are all available individually or in boxes. Gift boxes of nuts, fruit, and chocolates are available. You can also buy fresh popcorn and the most incredible chocolate toffee pecans by the sack. The Shoppe is located at 121 S Main Street.

A. Schwab

For unusual and unique gifts, A Schwab is a must-visit. They’ve been in operation since 1876 and have an incredible variety of old-fashioned, eclectic, and quirky items on their shelves. The range is immense, from cast iron skillets to Graceland magnets. Most of the items date from the 1920s to the present, but you can find even older artifacts if you look.

The sheer volume of items available can be daunting, but the friendly and helpful staff are happy to assist you. They have an old-fashioned, fully-working soda fountain that serves ice cream, shakes, and floats. A.Schwarb is located at 163 Beale Street.

Memphis Music

If you’re looking for something special for a musical relative or friend, this store is just where you need to be. They have a huge collection of vinyl records and CDs on Blues and many other genres. The owner’s knowledge of music is encyclopedic, and he either has a copy of the album you’re looking for, or he will be able to get it.

The store also contains a large selection of t-shirts, posters, and other music memorabilia. They can be found at 149 Beale Street.

As you can see from these fine stores, we varied selections of shops available to match any taste.
